So I don't know if I mentioned it, but Taylor's GF is doing her 2nd college program at WDW now (she started the week after Ron and I got back from our trip in Jan.) and Taylor broke down and got a Florida resident annual pass- he just went for a long weekend last weekend. Jared's been wanting to go back since he came back from his quick trip with his GF and her family Thanksgiving weekend. Actually, more like whining "I don't know if I can wait till next year to go again..." The boys and I have been talking and they both suggested that instead of us going to see Taylor at his base in Florida this summer we should just meet up at Disney. I didn't want to bring it up to Ron though because I thought he'd say no, we just went. So I told Taylor if he really wanted to do it HE needed to bring it up. So the other day they were texting and Taylor was asking him to bring him something when we visit this summer. Then he typed that he is going to be in Disney again in late June for his and GF's birthday, maybe we can all have a big trip together again, lol. Ron responded back "Lol, get together with your mom and get to planning." When Taylor sent me the screenshot of that I about fell out of my chair! When I got home from work I asked if he was serious and he said sure if we wanted, but he didn't want a super long trip. Jared and I had already decided that we'd be happy just to go and didn't even need to do park days since there's so many other things to do. I asked Ron what he thought and he said "That would be like going to the Super Bowl and tailgating. We have to do at least one or two park days." When I told him that military tickets are either 4 or 5 days and just a little more than two day tickets he said to go for the four days! I called that night and have us booked in two rooms at POR garden view! So far we have Splitsville for dinner on arrival night and either bowling or just looking around at DS, first day starting at Epcot after breakfast at Boma, second day starting at AK, third day hanging at the pool, Hoop Dee Doo at 4pm (to celebrate GF1's birthday which is the next day), her birthday at MK, then final park day staring at DHS and probably ending at MK. We may see Toy Story 4 on departure morning too. We're not doing a lot of sit down meals so we can more go with the flow. I'm going to pick up the tickets today on my lunch break and can then make fast pass picks tomorrow. I'll let you know what we get. I can't believe we're going again and get to go with both the boys!!!!

That’s great Sydney. Sometime husbands surprise us. Happy planning. It’s just around the corner.

Well Ron has surprised me even more! We were watching Wheel of Fortune the other night and it was Disney week. There were showing WL and Copper Creek villas for a prize they were giving away. Ron said "that's be cool to stay there" and I told him we can't stay at CCV because it's DVC and doesn't apply to the military discount but we could stay at regular WL. He asked what the difference per night is and I gave him by best guess. I said since it's more it would probably be better to stay there during a longer trip so we'd get the full value out of it, but he said it would be better on a shorter trip since we'd pay less overall, and besides we are still doing a down/resort day and we weren't doing parks from the time we woke up to super late at night. I acted causal and asked him what he wanted me to do and he said "whatever you want" but I had the feeling he really wants to stay there. I talked to Taylor, who talked to his GF, and they concluded that if we could get it they'd be down to stay there too. I did some math and since I just got a raise I could save up the extra between now and then, so it wouldn't "really" be any extra. I called and was able to get the exact same dates with one bunk bed room and one regular room, both courtyard view, at WL! Jared knows too but we're keeping it a secret from his GF and Ron. I love surprises! I know he's going to love it, and she's going to flip out! I think it's a nice extra treat for her since she's not only graduating HS with honors next month, but also earning her associates degree because she participated in a program to earn dual credit through three years of HS. I also changed our first morning breakfast from Boma to Whispering Canyon. I booked FP+ and got everything we wanted. We've got a lot going on between now and then so I now the time will fly by. Here's the plan so far:
Sun: we drive from SC and Taylor drives from FL panhandle (both take about 6 hours) stop in Jacksonville for our traditional Whataburger lunch arrive at WL around 4pm check-in, unpack, look around head to DS and dinner at Splitsville at 7:15, maybe bowling (Taylor and GF said the food there is just great and requested it) activate military tickets for the four of us at Guest Relations Mon: breakfast at Whispering Canyon at 8:55 Epcot Day FP+ for Speceship Earth 10:50, Living with the Land 11:55, and Test Track 12:55 lunch and dinner wherever in World Showcase Tue: AK day breakfast at Roaring Forks or maybe AK FP+ for Safari 9:25, Everest 11:55, and Kali River 1:05 GF1 can maybe get FP+ for FoP and Navi River since she works there, but if not she knows when to time it where we won't have to wait long, so she said not to bother getting FP+ CS for lunch and dinner wherever possible EMH at Epcot Wed: down day/resort day breakfast at Roaring Forks pool time Hoop Dee Doo at 4pm (GF1 still has to book this using her discount) Thu: MK day breakfast at Roaring Forks or MK FP+ for 7 Dwarves at 9:30, Peter Pan at 11:45, and BTMRR at 12:55 lunch and dinner wherever CS This is GF1's real birthday, but she keeps saying she doesn't want anything special, just to be at MK. We may end up park hopping, who knows! Fri: DHS day breakfast at Roaring Forks FP+ for RnR at 9:25, ToT at 10:25, and Slinky at 12:35 lunch wherever CS probably hop to MK to finish the trip Sat: check out maybe see an early movie at DS head home
I believe this is going to be the most laid back trip we've ever done, and I'm really looking forward to it! I'm going to paint the magic bands again too. Taylor came up with the idea to do favorite rides/attractions as a theme. He wants Test Track, Jared said TSMM or Slinky, GF2 said Space Mt., Ron said PotC or HM- so I'll do his PotC and mine HM cuz those are my two favs as well, and we're still waiting for GF1 to pick hers.

Sounds like a great trip. DW and I love WL. Don't stay there often, but we really like it. Can you post pictures of your MagicBands? We always get orange and blue MagicBands (University of Florida colors), but we might try to paint a couple of ours. We have four or five each, so it doesn't matter if we mess up some. DW is setting aside money for our Christmas trip. If my hand and eye are fixed, we plan to go just after Thanksgiving.
Happy planning and congrats on your pay raise!

WOW! Those are great. I think they are way beyond my talent. Maybe I'll just stick with the Orange and Blue. What kind of paint/ink do you use? Do you freehand or do you have patterns? As you can tell, I have a lot of questions and no talent. Do you mind if I share these pictures with DD and SIL?

Thank you Dave, and share away! I started using acrylic paint I had, but then switched to leather paint and use a spray acrylic sealer. There's a couple threads dedicated to this on Disboards- and those people are SUPER talented. I usually freehand sketch in light pencil onto the bands and then paint over. Feel free to share and tell them about the other threads if they want ideas. I also just read that coming up they will have about 30 different magic bands with characters you can purchase at a discount when staying at a WDW resort. I saw an example where instead of $24.99 it would be $10. So next time you could surprise DW with ones and then use them on future trips!

We're down to three weeks! Jared accidentally let his girlfriend find out we're staying at WL because he left his phone unlocked and she checked the app, but she's super excited. It's still a secret for Ron so that will be fun. Magic bands arrived on Friday and I started working on them yesterday. It will give me a little something to do every day till we leave.

Single Digit Dancing today! That's right, 9 days left until we are at WDW! Now it's five days to go? Are you excited? Silly question! Please don't forget to have a Whataburger for me when you stop in Jacksonville. Cheese, lettuce and tomato. No onion. French fries and a diet Coke. Let me know how much and I'll send you a check.
