Single Digit Dancing today! That's right, 9 days left until we are at WDW! Now it's five days to go? Are you excited? Silly question! Please don't forget to have a Whataburger for me when you stop in Jacksonville. Cheese, lettuce and tomato. No onion. French fries and a diet Coke. Let me know how much and I'll send you a check. It's down to only 3 days now!!! Work has been really busy this week so that's definitely helped the time pass faster. Of course you know we'll be making that Whataburger stop in Jacksonville and waving to you! That's almost exactly what Ron orders- he just changes the drink to diet Dr. Pepper! I got the magic bands done so I'll try to post pictures later tonight.

We go to a local restaurant called O'Charley's. I get the same thing every time - fish and chips and diet Dr. Pepper. I can drink at least six of them. They call me "Mr. Thirsty". Smart alecs.
Have a wonderful time with the Mouse.

HI guys! We just got back last night so we 're recovering today. It was a great trip overall but Ron and I made a few decisions for our next trip based on this one: 1. Not going between June and Aug.- As of next summer Jared will be done with school anyway so no need to go in the hottest part of the year. Tue. was literally the hottest day on record in FL and even though we're southerners used to the heat it was brutal. 2. Staying at a resort that offers something other than bus transportation- as with the Jan. trip where we could walk or boat to either Epcot or DHS and with last year's trip where we could boat to DS, boating to MK and then having the boat or monorail to other resorts and Epcot was a fantastic option while staying at WL. 3. Going without the "kids"- While we had fun this summer and last summer with the boys and their girlfriends, we both agreed that the trip with just the two of us in Jan. was so much more relaxing and enjoyable. I feel if it was just the boys it might not be as bad, but it still is tough getting everyone to get up at the same time, agree on what and when to eat, what attractions to do or skip, etc. We kept saying they could split up or do different things but they said they wanted all of us to stay together.
Don't get me wrong, we had a lot of fun and laughs, but overall for a week I think everyone would have had a more enjoyable experience if they were just with their significant other. I think we should save the whole family trips to every once in a while from now on. Besides, Taylor's GF is finishing up her college program next month and is then starting to work there full time. Taylor is a pass holder so he can go visit when he wants. He is looking at going into the AF Reserves when his enlistment is up and getting as job with Disney too. Jared plans to finish culinary school by next summer or fall and then wants to get in the culinary program at Disney so he'd be moving there anyway. His GF is going to college this fall but only has 2 years or so to finish because she got her associate's degree while completing high school. She's talked about wanting to work for Disney as well.

I absolutely agree with your decisions. DW and I came to those conclusions many years ago. Never, never, never go in the summer. That's why we have the Florida resident week day passes. Can't go in the summer, after mid-December and spring break. Those are times of the year that we don't want to go anyway.
We love the resorts like Port Orleans and Wilderness Lodge because we can ride a bus or ride a boat.
When we go it's just the two of us. We have been with 10 or 12 family and friends and it's impossible to coordinate a group that big. We have been going on our own or with another couple for the last 20 years. Since I usually make all the ressies, I get to choose when and where. I always ask if my choices are OK and they are always happy that they don't have to make any ressies.
It sounds like you will have many Disney cast members in your family. Lucky You! Many perks. Didn't you say that you planned to go back to Texas? Maybe you should join the rest of the family and move to Florida. Many years ago Disney had a special program called The Magic Kingdom Club. It was for Florida companies, and my Dad was one of the regional representatives. He was not a cast member but he had his own company. Twice a year they had a one week conference at the Contemporary Resort. We stayed at the Contemporary and he went to meetings all day and the rest of us would go play all day.
I'm glad you're back safe. Are you planning the next trip yet?
