Have you been going to restaurants, have meals delivered or done drive-through or curb-side pick up during this pandemic? What are your favorite restaurants?
We have done it all except dine-in (still don’t want to take the chance). Our favorite fast food restaurants are Wendy’s, Whataburger and Chick-fil-A. Our favorite dine-ins are Longhorn Steakhouse (ribeye and baked potato), Ruby Tuesday (salad bar, sliders and fries), La Nopalera (Quesadilla Supreme) and a couple of local seafood restaurants (clam chowder, fried catfish fillets and fries).
There are some restaurants we like in Jacksonville, but we usually eat there only if we have to go into Jacksonville for some other reason.
We can’t wait for this pandemic to go away. (WARNING, RANT FOLLOWS- Too many people have already died because of people in power letting politics get in the way of keeping people safe. I am talking about politicians at every level - RANT OVER).
Please take precautions, stay safe and stay well. And pardon my rant.

We have a habit of going out to eat after church every Sat. and even when the pandemic stopped us from going to church and actually out to eat we still got take out. In our area some places are closed still but of the ones that are open we have tried a few. We still want to support the industry, especially since our son Jared currently works and is going to make a career out of it. We've been to his restaurant for their amazing burgers (a mix of beef, brisket, and pork)and another local restaurant that serves classic Southern food with a twist. Other than that it's been take out. We like Chili's a lot (ordering on the app helps), have a favorite local Tex-Mex place, found a new really good Chinese take out since our normal buffet placed completely closed, and have picked up Popeye's multiple times because their chicken sandwich is amazing!

Our granddaughter and her boyfriend are in the food service industry, too. We do takeout at their restaurant, tip about 30% and send them each a check every month to help out. When we do GrubHub or DoorDash we put a small (15%) tip on the credit card. To make sure the delivery person gets his/her fair share, we tip them 20% in $2.00 bills. We have been using $2.00 bills for tips for about 20 years. Since we don't do dining inside the restaurants now, we just give it to the driver. When we do take out at the restaurant, we give the tip to the person who brings the food to the car or hands it to us in the restaurant.
