Has anyone stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter before? This is going to be the first time for me, Bill, Kaity (of course), Amy, and Steve. My parents have stayed there before and liked it. MTers, tell me about your experiences! (And, yes, Mom, AKA DinoSoarin', feel free to chime in, too!!!!)

We've never done POFQ but we think of POR as our home away from home (for now...still so many resorts to try!). Every time we stay at POR, we make a trip over to POFQ. I LOVE the beignets!
The thing we like about POR the most, and I think it would apply to POFQ is the size. They're small enough to be relaxing and feel like it's all just for you.
Can't wait to hear how it goes!

We've only done POR, so I'm excited to see how you like FQ!

We have only done POR, but I think POFQ looks fabulous! I love the buildings and how it is so much smaller than the other moderate resorts. We booked there in October, but had to switch our dates around and it was no longer available. I was so bummed!

I found a video tour of the entire resort (before the rooms were renovated) and I'm so pumped! It definitely has a relaxing, luxurious feel to it. I was a bit worried since I'm from New Orleans, but it really feels like they took the essence of the Quarter and eliminated the dirt and booze. I love that Blaine Kern actually provided all the props--by commission and secondhand.

LOVE IT!! It is a great resort. Here is a great website dedicated to all things POR, both sides. www.portorleans.org/ You may already know about this, but if you don't here it is. You will love the NOLA theming, that's for sure. Nice thing is if you are sharing the buses with POR-Riverside, you are first on and first off! Sometimes you have separate buses, but if you don't then you never have to worry about getting a seat when you leave....or standing for long on the way back. Love the boat over to DTD. They do have horse and buggy rides. The doorman, who's name escapes me right now, is a hoot! When there in February they were doing some renovations in the pool area. Love the queen beds and the room decor. Email me if you have other questions. Not an expert by any means, but have been there 3 times in the past 2 years.
