Ok. We're staying in a Pirate room at the CBR this year. We've never stayed there before so what should we know before we go?

The pirate rooms are further out than other rooms at the resort so you may have to walk a bit to get to the main hall and food court. The rooms also only have a full size bed. Other than that, I have heard nothing but good things about them. I think they look like so much fun!
The pool looks fabulous (old fort) and should really be a lot of fun especiall with the pirate themed room. There are also some beaches at the resort which should be really relaxing.

I'm hoping to take LOTS of pics! Good to know the resort is so well thought of. I read some reviews but I prefer first hand reviews from people I know a little better.
Thanks for the heads up on the distance...we're good with walking a little further so that's not a concern for us but it's always better to know ahead of time.

We have stayed there 4 times and next month will be our 5th. This is the only resort we have satyed at. We have stayed in Aurba twice and Barbados twice, and hopefully this trip too. As mentioned the pirate theme rooms are the furthest from Old Port Royale, I think in Trinadad. They are usually the last stop for the buses. The main pool has a nice childrens area. We have taken walks around the lake in early morning and late at night, its nice and peaceful. The times we have gone, it has never been crowded, except for at Old Port at eating times. If you have any questions , I'll do my best with the answers.

Haven't stayed in a Pirate themed room, but one of those might entice me to try CBR again. We were kind of disappointed by it. The resort is so huge and spread out. For us, it lacked personality. It was also bitterly cold when we stayed there, so our overall miserable-ness with regards to the weather may have had some minor influence on our perceptions. ;-)

Thanks! I'm just excited. Is there anything at the resort that we just have to do? check out the cool pool I have to agree, the main pool and the childrens pool are really nice. We liked just walking the path around the lake at night, it was really nice. Also since I was up by 6 am every morning, I would walk to Old Port Royale to get coffee and drinks, but before I would get there I would just sit on a bench and wacth the sunrise. I can't wait to go back !!!
