A friend of mine is headed to Disney next week (I am so jealous!) and staying at Wilderness Lodge. I think she paid for a Woods View room. Is there is certain area of the resort that she should request to stay in? I have never stayed there so I have no idea what to tell her.

In spring 2004, I requested Magic Kingdom side for Woods View and from our fifth floor room I could see the monorail, castle, Tomorrowland, and Contemporary resort above the tree line. Now, the trees may be taller 8 years later, and I don't know if BLT obstructs this view now, but I really enjoyed being able to see that everytime we went out on our balcony and Wishes from our balcony. The flipside--to our left was the cast member parking lot and delivery area, and below us was some sort of drainage pond.

We had this same view and 5th floor too, only the drainage pond was to the right of us and we were in standard view. It was wonderful seeing the fireworks every night. Just wasn't great to look down, lol.
