This was our second time staying at Coronado Springs, but the first time was such a whirlwind trip (about 36 hours) that I didn't really get a feel for the resort at all. This time we were able to really enjoy it and all of the amenities.
We stayed in Casitas 3 which ended up being a pretty good spot since it was close to the first bus stop and was connected to the conference center where DH spent a lot of time.
The Room: I give the room a big thumbs up! The decor was really pretty, and I loved having an actual door between the bedroom and bathroom instead of just a curtain. The bed were very comfortable.
The Amenities: We were so excited that it was warm enough to swim. My oldest DD absolutely loved the pool, and asked if we could stay here again just so she could swim. I think she did the slide about a 100 times. I like that the hot tub was much bigger than the one at POR. We sat in there for a long time and chatted with people.
My favorite amenity is definitely the gym area. I have been watching my weight so it was nice to be able to go in there and exercise especially on the day it was cold and rainy.
The Restaurants: We ordered a pizza one night, but I didn't actually try any of the restaurants. DH ate a couple of counter service meals, and he said they were good.
The Grounds/Buildings: I did like the way this was set up around the lake, and it was nice to be able to walk around and see everything. I thought the buildings were really pretty, but I preferred The Casitas. The lobby and conference areas are really nice.
Overall Impression: I enjoyed staying here, but I think I would prefer to do an adults only trip instead of one with kids. I was amazed at how few children we saw there compared to the other Disney resorts.
Also, it did lack the Disney feel for me. I also felt that when you leave your room or park your car, you just see more hotel rooms instead of landscaping or scenery. I suppose that's not bad, but their is no first impression of Wow! like I get from the other Disney resorts.
I would stay here again without question. I did enjoy the extra amenities that they have here, and think that adds a lot of value to this resort.
