Okay, since it looks like a January trip is on, I am beginning to think about dining. Since this is an unplaned trip, my goal is to keep it as inexpensive as possible.
We probably won't be doing any table service meals since DH will be teaching at random times throughout the day, and I have no desire to do a TS by myself with the two munchkins. Also, DH's company is paying for his meals.
Anyway, we have used the dining plan the last 5 years or so which means I really never pay attention to prices. I was wondering what your best money saving dining tips are, what counter service places you recommend, etc.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

I know one big money saving suggestion is for drinks- do bottled water that you bring yourself and refill, and have the girls share drinks when you have to buy them and they don't come with a meal. Also, it may be better to have the girls share an adult meal, or even get one a kid's meal and you and the other share a meal. We've never had a problem bringing in little snacks like granola bars or snack mix, which will fight off the urge to purchase more expensive snacks. And you can have lighter breakfasts in your room. Some of my favorite "good deal" cs things are: AK: Yak & Yeti cs- the meals are around $10, but could easily feed you and the girls DHS: Pizza Planet- the pizza comes with a salad, so you could easily do two meals for the three of you for aorund $15 Epcot: love Morocco cs- a platter I think is around $13, but could be split between the three of you MK: Cosmic Ray's- the chicken/rib combo is around $15 and is plenty for you three CSR: Pepper Market- lots of great a la carte food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; our favs are the market nachos and the quesadillas- each are about $10 and can easily be split by two adults, so perfect for you and the girls Happy planning!

Other ideas The buffet at Trails End (Fort Wilderness is a good value). The food court at The Land pavilion in Epcot has great meals for "sharing", decent prices and free drink refills (from the soda fountain). Most CS don't have that.
I agree with Pizza Planet combo meal. Fun place and easy to share the meal 2 ways, if not three.
Remember at counter service that anyone can order a kids meal...so if you prefer that option for yourself, that saves some $. Also, any item in a combo can be ordered separately (with adjusted cost)....so if you don't want the fries, ask for "Just a burger, no fries", or a side of bacon, or a side of eggs, etc.
Remember Ice water is free.
In general buffets are your worst value, as you have to pay for everyone......unless you are ALL really big eaters, and I assume that isn't the case.
