I can't believe it's almost time to go! Being so busy during the holidays definitely made time pass faster. One week from today we will be packing up to go to WDW to celebrate our 22nd anniversary! It's like the honeymoon we never took and out first trip without the kids. Actually, the only times we've traveled without the kids were two days going to Biltmore Estate for our 20th anniversary, going to Atlanta for a day for an extended family reunion for DH's side a few years ago, and flying to visit family in Texas this Nov. and last Nov. I painted our magic bands with Mickey and Minnie from "The Brave Little Tailor." Here's what I've got as far as plans (subject to change based on how we're feeling):
Day 1:
wake up, breakfast, hit the road by 9am
stop for lunch at Whataburger in Jacksonville (we'll wave to you and DW Dave!)
arrive at Boardwalk Inn by 4pm
check in, unpack, explore the resort
dinner at Big River Grille or ESPN Club (never tried either)
walk over to Epcot or HS to activate military tickets
Day 2:
breakfast at Captain Cook's at Poly (I love Tonga toast, he loves the breakfast burrito)
MK day (9am-8pm)
fast passes for BTMRR @ 10:00, Jungle Cruise @ 11:05, and 7DMT @ 3:35
lunch at Diamond Horseshoe @ 1:10 (we've never tried it)
dinner at Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's
Day 3:
AK day (9am-8pm)
breakfast at Kusafari Coffee or Isle of Java (never tried these)
fast passes for Safari @ 10:25, EE @ 11:25, and FoP @ 4:00
lunch at Harambe Market (never tried it)
dinner at Pizzafari Buffet @ 6:15 (never tried it)
maybe Epcot emh 9pm-11pm
Day 4:
MK day (9am-8pm)
breakfast at The Plaza @ 8:50 (never tried for breakfast)
fast passes for Space Mt. @ 10:05, Buzz @ 11:25, and Pooh @ 12:55
lunch at Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's
dinner at Boma at AKL @6:55
back to MK for emh 8pm-10pm
Day 5:
DHS day (9am-8pm)
breakfast at Boardwalk Bakery or Woody's (never tried them)
fast passes for RnR @ 9:40, TSMM @ 10:45, and ToT @ 11:55
lunch at ABC Commissary (never tried it)
dinner at Woody's (never tried it)
Day 6:
Our anniversary and first day of Epcot International Festival of the Arts!
breakfast at Beach Club Market (never tried it)
walk to Epcot (9am-9pm)
fast passes for Spaceship Earth @ 9:15, Test Track @ 10:15, and The Land @ 11:50
lunch and dinner- eating at all the food booths for the festival (first time, though we've done Food & Wine and Flower & Garden)
Day 7:
breakfast at Boardwalk Bakery
check out of Boardwalk Inn
shopping at DS
lunch somewhere at DS
drive home
I know some people may be wondering why we're not doing any signature or romantic type meals since we're going for our anniversary. Truthfully, we're just not into those types of meals. My idea of romantic is sitting on a bench on Crescent Lake sharing a funnel cake and watching the fireworks!
