Saturday March 12 is Animal Kingdom day! There are emh from 8-9am, so I am hoping we can all get up and ready to hop on the bus early enough to do a little looking around for that hour, or get in an attraction or two. Even if we just wander through the quiet trails I'll be happy. We have a breakfast adr for Tusker House at 9:15. We haven't done a character meal in a while, and Ron loves Donald so I thought it would be fun. Plus the food offerings look similar to Boma which we all love. Lunch will be our first visit to Flame Tree Bar-b-q, which I hope is also good.
For attractions, I'm hoping we can get fp+ for the Safari, Expedition Everest, and Dinosaur. Depending on the weather we may or may not do Kali River Rapids. Other must-do's at AK are Festival of the Lion King, the Oasis, the Tree of Life trails, the Jungle Trek, the Forest Trail, and the train ride and Rafiki's Planet Watch. We will take our time enjoying AK till it closes at 5pm, then head over to MK.
Whenever we're hungry after we arrive at MK, dinner will be at Pinnochio's. We'll probably get dessert somewhere too since it's our last night. MK closes at 10pm, so we'll get in extra rides on all the attractions we want to do again, or in case we missed some before. I know they have fp+ kiosks to use once we use up our AK fp's so we may be able to get more, but I'm not counting on it. We'll probably end the night at PotC and stroll back down Main St. to catch a bus back to POFQ.

Sunday March 13 will be our departure day. We will probably sleep in a bit then get up and have breakfast at Sassagoula or maybe stroll over to Riverside Mills. Then we will pack up, check out by 11am, and head over to the Boardwalk. Somehow we've never explored this area of WDW before. We may do some last minute shopping too. We plan to have lunch before we head home at the ESPN Club. Jared, the sports fanatic in our family, personally picked this last time we were looking at menus when he was working on something for Scouts, so I wanted to make sure we got to go. Their menu looks pretty good, and there are no adr's needed, so I think that will work best for our last day. Then we'll bid farewell to WDW and start the about 6 hour drive home.

We added another day! We are now arriving Sat. March 5! This all came about because I wanted to see if we could go to a Spring Training game on one of our non-park days. The Atlanta Braves schedule finally came out but there were no games on those days. Then I checked the Houston Astros (our "hometown team") schedule and had the same results. I asked Ron what he thought we should do- forget a game or re-arrange the schedule and adr's. So he asks "Well, do they play that weekend?" I looked and sure enough, the Astros, who play in Kissimmee, have a Sun. 1:00 game. "But that means adding on a day," I said. "So call and find out if they can do it," he replied. Amazingly, the CM was able to add a day still at POFQ with the military discount!
I booked a dinner adr for Sat. at 6:30 at Boatright's at POR, so we can head over there after we check in and get settled. Sun. morning we may grab a quick breakfast and have a swim before getting ready to go to the game. I was thinking we may grab something to eat on the way. Has anyone eaten at Good's Food to Go at OKW? At the very least we can eat at the game. Then when we get back we can hopefully still go to House of Blues for dinner and do some shopping at Disney Springs. Yippee for one more vacation day!

Going to order our Military Salute tickets today! With all the craziness of my work schedule and activities the last month I kept forgetting to go by the base outdoor recreation center to get them. I finally remembered last week and went by- only to find they were closed for the week! So I need to go order them today and hopefully they will be back quickly. I'm not super worried about getting fp+, since Taylor and his girlfriend were able to get the ones they wanted and they went Christmas week, versus us going in March. I just want to be able to pick them because I love planning! The first day we can pick them is Jan. 5th. Then I can pick our magic band colors too. Once I get those in I am going to decorate them to go along with the Princess and the Frog theme since we are staying at POFQ. I did a practice run decorating Taylor's and his girlfriend's for their trip last week. They had "His Beauty" and "Her Beast" printed on the inside of their bands. I painted a stained glass looking design of Belle and Beast on each of their bands. They held up pretty well except for the part of the bands that bend cracked a bit, so I'll have to work on finishing those better. There was no design on that part so it didn't look too bad. Originally when we talked about going in 2014 Jared had wanted me to do Tiana for me, Prince Naveen as a frog for Ron, Louis playing trumpet for Taylor, and Dr. Facilier for him. So I'll still try to do the three characters for us.

Here are the bands I did for Taylor and Amanda and the images I used for inspiration:
I ended up touching up Belle's face a bit after I took the picture (on my phone, so not the best quality). They looked cute wearing them though, especially at their breakfast at Be Our Guest!

Update: I was finally able to get our military salute tickets for the trip! Originally I planned to purchase them sometime in Dec., just to get a bit closer to the trip time to make sure it was still a go, while still allowing the three weeks the outdoor recreation center on base recommends for the time it may take to get the tickets in once you order them. But then stuff got more hectic at work, holiday activities were popping up, and I didn't get to stop by until the week of Christmas- and they were closed! Ok, so I planned to go by the next week while I was off. Taylor was in town and knew I needed to go get them, so he needed to run a few errands and came with me- knowing Jared wouldn't want to go therefore not ruining the surprise for him. We show up to the center on Mon. Dec. 28 and they said they couldn't order the tickets till it was actually 2016- really?!? So right after work on Mon. Jan. 4 (because of course they were closed for New Year's Day and the weekend) I raced over there and placed my order- I was the third person! I was a little worried because The first day to pick fast passes was the following day and I didn't know how long it would take for the tickets to come in. Luckily I got a call on Fri. Jan. 8 on my way home from work, so I stopped by to pick up the tickets, then eagerly went home to link the tickets and make fp+ picks! There were still plenty of times to choose from and I got all our top picks and times that worked great with our adr's and already loose plans. So here are our newest plans!
