Monday 12/24/12 Christmas Eve Day 4

Had breakfast & lunch & lounged peacefully in the room, recovering from our big Sunday tour of WDW. Showered up & headed of to Hollywood Studios around 2:45 pm, with Mickey dressed as Santa and I in my Christmas light necklace. Some Disney Christmas magic happened right away while we were getting our fast passes for Rock n Roller Coaster for later in the evening. The guy right next to me said "anyone want one fast pass good right now? My hand shot up and I was off & running. Mick went single riders but that was running really slow. I called her after my ride and she still wasn't in the pre-show. Then the ride went down due to technical difficulties and she had to leave. We were all set for our 9:25 FP's though so it was all good. I was thankful to squeeze in my first ride!
We wandered next back to the Streets of America to the Premier Theater. I love having the mobile magic app to give wait times & show times up to the minute. It even tracks where you are in the park and lists the things closest to you first. The Comedy Warehouse (from Pleasure Island) was doing a Holiday Special @ Studios. We love their improv, and really enjoyed the show. My favorite was (due to legal reasons) an improv game show called Schmeopardy, with host Alec TriBeCa. It was hilarious.
After the show we checked in for our dinner at Mama Melrose's. They said we might have to wait a bit, so Mick dashed over to Pizza Planet to grab a beer. Of course while she was in line our buzzer went and the table was ready. I chit chatted with a delightful young woman named Maria from Brazil who was missing her family back home but really happy to be working for Disney. She had impressive social skills. When we saw Mickey coming in with her beer Maria said "Oh I didn't know we were waiting for Santa!" We had a waitress named Jean who waited on us last time we ate here. She's a nice lady & good server. Mick had fish piccata paired with Chardonnay, and I had chicken parm paired with Moretti beer. We topped off the meal by sharing a piece of chocolate cannoli cake. Loved the Nutella ganache!

By now it was dark so we were off to the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. It was festive, dazzling, beautiful, and all set to Christmas music. It's really a spectacular display. I wanted a hot chocolate in a souvenir holiday mug. We tracked down the correct vendor and Mick bought me a cup, which I then promptly spilled all over both of us while trying to adjust the lid. Yikes! The young cast member who helped me clean up was very kind and respectful, which I appreciated very much.
Now we had 5 minutes to get to the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, which we haven't seen since the 90's. It was pretty amazing. Those stunt men and women are very talented and athletic. It was loud and fun and funny. The theater was only about 2/3 full and it was SO NICE to be there in cool weather. Very enjoyable!
Next we went down Sunset Blvd. and got in the stand by line for Tower of Terror. The posted wait time was 30 minutes, but it ended up being more like 45. Not a big deal though. Again the cooler weather makes things much more tolerable. The ride was awesome! Lots of drops, and then when we thought we were finished..... Another sequence of drops. Fantastic!
By now our RnR fast passes were valid, so we dashed down for the best way a girl could ever spend Christmas Eve.... In a stretch limo on the way to The Forum! Tsssss! it was nice to ride together for a change, usually we do single riders and are not in the same car.
Tried to catch Toy Story Mania after that, but the park had closed (I thought it was open until 1, but that was Magic Kingdom tonight, not Studios- Disney brain freeze!). Shopped our way out of the park, caught the bus back to OKW by 10:45. We had a little Christmas Eve party in the room when we got back and "face timed" with some family members. A magical day!
