I have never had a car onsite before. I have two questions. I know that when we arrive, we will stop at security and they will check our reservation, do we drive to bell services or park and then go in?
Second, we will be going to the park until about 3-4pm on the day we check out. Will we still be able to leave our car in the resort parking lot that day?
simple questions, but I like knowing the correct procedures for everything. I think it is part of the overplanning process and the fact that for WDW, you can pretty much find every detail about everything.

Never had a car when in Disney, Not sure where you are staying but this is what I have noticed at the Carribbean Beach. I know that they do not like you to park in front next to bell services because of pickup and drop offs. They have a parking lot next to the main building to park and check in and then drive to your room. As for check out day I don't think there would be a problem with that and do not think anyone wold notice. If you get a package, the package expires at midnight ( I think) so I think you should be able to stay parked until you are ready to leave. To be 100% sure, I would call or ask when you check in. When we go on vacation to the beach, check out is 11 am. I always ask them if I stay parked until I am ready to leave. They usually say to be out of the lot by 2 pm, to make sure there is parking for the new arrivals at 3.
Have fun

You can either park or drive up check in then park. When you check in you will get a parking pass to place in your front window. It's good until midnight of the day you check out so going to a park your last day won't be a problem.

We haven't stayed at the Poly before, but I'm pretty sure you can go check in, while DH maybe gets the bags to bell services. It should be quick at this time of year. We've always checked in, then driven our car to the parking area closest to our room and unloaded ourselves. But the year DH was in a scooter, they did ask if we wanted our bags taken to our room when we checked in. We have left our car at the resort till about 3:00 before on our last day with no problems. Again, the time you're going it's not as busy, so it probably won't be a problem. I'd ask when you get ther just to be sure. I looked in my scrapbook to make sure, and the paper parking permit just says the check out date, not that you have to be gone at a certain time.

Thanks all!! That was what I was thinking but I just like to know the "normal" procedures for things. I will check on the parking when we check in since we are only staying for one night. (I know crazy right ) Heidi

It's never a problem parking at the resort, even if you aren't staying there. When we are down there, we go to the Poly several times just to eat at Captain Cooks and shop. we always tell them we are there to eat and shop and they say, "Have fun!" The only places they are stricter on parking is the Contemporary and the EPCOT area resorts on F&W weekends.
