Day 5 was a big one. Benjamin (despite the fact that he often says he wants to grow up to be Darth Vader) took part in the Jedi Training Academy. He loved it and I suspect we’ll have to make it an annual event.
Once we left the Jedi experience, we had Toy Story Mania fastpasses to use. For the record, despite my husband’s sharp shooter military status, I kicked his butt…twice. Once I had sufficiently destroyed my darling husband, we hopped in line to meet Buzz and Woody.
I think the last pic with the girl shows the quality of our parenting skills. Traumatize the child temporarily for a picture that will last forever.
We spent most of the day shopping and eating our way around Hollywood Studios…a couple of my favorites included a new camera strap and a delightful four inch butterfinger cupcake.
After gorging and shopping (and a mini-nap on the Great Movie Ride), we made our way over to DTD for some more shopping and food but first we had to do the Phineas and Ferb and You experience…twice…Benjamin loved it! But then, we had reservations at T-Rex that we were super excited about. Unfortunately, the whole experience ended up being the single worst dining experience we’ve ever had at Disney World. It took nearly two hours from the time we arrived to check in for our reservations until we were served our entrees. Entrees, I should add that weren’t even very good. Desert took another hour and by the end of it all we just wanted to get out of there. I could go on and on about the horrible way we were treated (and it wasn’t us specifically…their check in policy is more like herding cattle from one line to another) but I leave it at this: I wrote Disney. It’s the first and only time I’ve ever felt the need to write and complain but I hope that it changes things. We will not return.
We tried to salvage the evening by meeting up with the rest of the family and going over what everyone did.
