Day 4 started out a little early because Benjamin had a Pirate’s League appointment at opening which meant we were able to arrive and walk down Main Street completely by ourselves. Once at Pirate’s League, our little princess got a little attention too from the wench in the booth next to Benjamin’s as she was waiting for her next Pirate-in-training which meant she got Pirate dust and a pirate tattoo just like her big brother.

The rest of the day was spent at Magic Kingdom going all over the park starting at the Pirate Tutorial and ending sitting in front of the Castle watching Wishes but the best moment by far was Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor. I’ve always wanted to see Joshua become “that guy” just because it would be fun but this was better…by far. First, and fairly unimportantly, I remember to text a joke in and it was used in the show which was cool and if that was it, we would have walked away with a memory but that was just the beginning. Towards the end of the show the monster on stage asked for a human volunteer to help generate laughs. Benjamin, in all his pirate make-up jumped up and was selected. They asked his name and in the cutest, just-turned-four voice he has he answered. The crowd laughed at our little boy with the fake beard. Then, the monster told him to shave which of course got another small laugh but then, the big question…”Benjamin, what do you want to be when you grow up?” It’s a simple enough question and one we had asked a couple of times but Joshua and I knew there would be only one of two answers…the two he has always said to us…
Either he would say “a soldier like my daddy” which would have been cute or what he actually said…
“Darth Vader.”
Yes. Our son wants to be Darth Vader. The crowd ate it up. I’m pretty sure it was a first for the cast members too because they had to ask him they heard him correctly. They had of course and that pretty much ended the show.
We had a blast the rest of the day just soaking in the Magic Kingdom and checking out as much as we could of the new Fantasyland area.
As Wishes ended, we got a text from my mom that her flight had landed and she would meet us at the check-in building at Caribbean Beach Resort. We picked her up, got her into her Pirate room (next door to ours) and caught her up on all we had already done.
