Despite the heat, which was high but tolerable, my trip was great. got lots of souvineers (thanks to work for the overtime)as remembrances, got my first "in the park" haircut...an experience i highly recommend...JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT.. had some great meals, talked to some great people, from Ireland, the UK, Michigan, met someone from Carbondale Pa (dont drive but CAROLB, how far?) and several other states. the birthday experiece was amazing...from being met on arrival at the resort, being upgraded to a preferred room, free popcorn and drink at the studios, birthday cake at Teppan Edo, being sung to at Cosmic Rays, the birthday gift sent to my room from family, it was an experience to remember... "60" passed by totally painless I think just about every CM i passed wished me a happy birthday and this trip really was. ps thanks for listening

Forgot to mention the only down side....watch for tour groups....there are some that are really terrible. one adult with about 50-70 kids...they are from the same tour agency but they send tons of groups...spoke to a CM who said disney is expecting 90,000 during july alone...but the up side is they are only allowed to come in july and august when disney crowds are generally light. seems like there are tons of complaints about them but the rule of thumb is disney cant stop them from coming....they come with $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and they spend like crazy...just act like pigs where ever they go...never put anything in the garbage..leave it where ever they are...guess they think mommy will pick up for them...and loud...constantly yelling..even the leader with them....hint--stay away from july and august....i know i will

oh yea, and the CM also said...they get no discounts...need their own buses, but they will use disney transportation if they can get away with it, no free dining, and they pay the high rack rates for rooms...they even have to have charter buses back and forth from the hotel to the parks....but they still come....so look out and BEWARE

Carbondale is just north of Scranton...so from you less than 30 miles. My grandmother was from Carbondale, as were/are many cousins, so I have been there many times. It is a small world, isn't it?

Yes, the tour groups can be a bit obnoxious, even when they don't mean to be. The sheer numbers are staggering, and I would NOT want to chaperone a trip like that! I was stuck behind a tour leader in line for a Soarin' Fastpass once, and she looked like she had about 200 park tickets in her hands. A very attentive and kind CM took mercy on me and shooed me over to a previously closed kiosk. He not only gave me the 1 set of FP's I was entitled to, he gave me a 2nd set of FP's just to share the magic. I love and appreciate those thoughtful Disney CM's!!!!!
Great trip report Susan, I'm glad you had fun and celebrated your 60th in your Happy Place! Thanks for sharing!
