Just saw a great movie on Netflix. WALT BEFORE MICKEY. I never heard of this one before, and I think the date on the movie was 2015. it was a great movie.. a bio about Walt and quite a bit of Roy and how the company got started. lots of info about the hard times Walt went thru before Mickey came along. I thought it was fantastic. found it on Netflix but think I will be buying it now as soon as I can find it.

I agree. sometimes I open the home page, and look at the dates for last posts...and there doesn't seem to be too many from 2016...most are really old..
come on Dave.. we need to try and bring this back. I was on the board when it was the old site...before the last one closed, (I think that's where we lost people)... maybe we can get it popular again.
maybe posting pictures... like a resort page... an opening for each resort and we can solicit for pix from each resort.. same for restaurants and food pix

it just seems that there is so much space that there is lots of room for expansion... I know so many acres are left for natural habitat but there must be room for expansion without taking down things.
for example... I loved FROZEN.. have a 3 yr old great niece who will go nuts for the Frozen ride in Norway...BUT... there ad to be room to put it somewhere else and not take away the Malestrom.... sorry but Frozen doesn't seem to fit in Epcots Norway. should be at studios or MK

so sad I understand the need to improve and expand but they are closing some of my favorite things... I love Pizza Planet.. heard that is going to be a Muppet Themed Restaurant.. I am ok with that just love the pizza and cupcake and salad at pizza planet better than anywhere else loved the stunt show... was talking to a CM who mentioned her husband was a mechanic at the show and they are all contracted ... so he was out of a job... but he was lucky and Disney picked him up as a mechanic elsewhere.. he was at lights motor action since it opened... wonder how many people are out of work because of all the closings.. if they get moved that is one thing, but if they are now out of work...how sad for them loved catastrophe canyon... one niece got picked once...and I wasn't there...for the ship part ..heard she got soaked... kids love getting to do stuff.. will miss that... a line that moved quickly and you got to sit for a while....missed that on my last 2 trips it was already gone I haven't done the Honey I shrunk the kids play area in quite a few years but it was a nice place to sit and let the kids run for a while studio catering food wasn't too bad either...if it is the bldg. I am thinking of... nice place to get out of the rain too I did see American idol several times and that was pretty good... talented people always there legend of capt jack sparrow was cool... wont miss it though magic of animation was always a must do for me... I loved the movie at the end....tribute to walt... hope they find a place to put that movie... CHANGES CHANGES CHANGES... the down side to getting older... I like what I like and don't mess with it

thanks they went thru a non-Disney travel agent and they don't seem to be getting anywhere. "wait until july" they keep being told. and since their trip is during the food & wine festival I am willing to bet lots of things will be booked solid...restaurants and fast passes.
they are looking at doing their one park day at studios not my idea of a good choice... the kids want to see star wars but since so much stuff is closed now I cant see a whole day at studios...right at this time.. personally...one day only... I would go to the magic kingdom...just my opinion though

I have a friend going on a Disney cruise (Magic out of NYC) in October and she is trying to get info. not much coming from her contact person (she went thru a travel agent instead of Disney) anyway, does anyone who has done a cruise recently know: 1- do they use magic bands? 2- they have one day at a wdw park -- is their ticket on the bands 3 - does it work like the park band -- fast passes on the band her cruise isn't until oct but they are not getting any info about making a dining ressie, fast passes etc.. they only have one day in a park so I understand they want to do as much as possible. they don't even know if it is a hopper tix or base tix. I would be nuts by now; thanks for any info

I have just about run out of people to drag to Disney.... lol... I have done 3 where I went alone for the whole time... once with 2 aunt who stayed 10 days then I stayed 10 more on my own... and last year was there 2 weeks before a friend came with her grandson. I LOVE IT.. the first time I though it would be boring... but I plan backstage tours... take a book in my bag and when I need to sit a while I get a snack, fries - funnel cake- whatever - and find a table in a quiet place and chill for as long as I want... then move on... works great also if another magical trips person is there at the same time... I got to meet the Quick family and spent time with them 3 different days.. I say...go for it. going alone again this fall... haven't decided when yet... end of oct into nov probably

So, is anyone planning a WDW trip this year. Anyone have dates scheduled? I am looking for the fall and get to spend more time at the Food & Wine Festival... didn't get much time last trip. who knows... although it is really hot in the summer if I can get a good deal for around my birthday (first week of July) but with the holiday I don't usually get a good deal at that time. so I am not sure but it wont be earlier since I am going to North Carolina in March and I want to go to NYC in the early spring to go to a show. so who has plans so far?

WRAP UP
I have to say this was the best and longest trip i have ever done and loved every single minute...rain or heat..and would do it again in a heartbeat. made some new friends on the destination discovery tour... stacey and dorothy who are now on my facebook --(we were the only 3 on the tour so talked a lot) spent way too much money but enjoyed that too... thats why i worked so much overtime...so if i see something i like i can buy it...and not have to pass up on it...and shop i did... for my great niece Porter 2 1/2 yrs old i sent an Elsa costume and headpiece for Halloween, 2 tshirts, (anna and sofia) a frozen play set, a fab 5 beach towel, several books and for the family a set of juice glasses from aribas brothers -- anna for mom olaf for dad and elsa for porter. also sent dad a storm trooper t shirt (he is a star wars fan) that i heard he has worn about 5 times already and a star wars calendar and a light saber key chain that lights up...but i have heard some little 2 1/2 yr old loved the light saber and has confiscated it from dad. lol... if i knew i should have sent 2. and for me...where to start 4 baseball caps, 2 watches (safari mickey and a jiminy cricket) 3 hoodies, 6 polo shirts ( wear them to work a lot must have about 30 by now) 4 tall soda glasses with the castle on and had 2015 engraved on the back, 13 tubes of bath bombs from basin (cant buy the little ones online or anywhere i have checked) several pens, memo tablets, picked up books 4-5-6 of the kingdom keepers - 6 keychains for friends, 2 mugs, the garbage can from the Food & wine festival, and a ton of other stuff. mostly stuff i will use so i figure it isnt worth the money...
a hint.. i tried this last year and it helped some...so did it again this year...once i booked my trip i started buying gift cards with my overtime money. a $50 gift card here... 2 $50 cards there.... that was a major help... didnt seem to hurt at all using them as much as thinking twice when spending cash. felt like it was a freebie since i wasnt paying for it ( with cash ) lol strange way to feel but it worked for me. thanks for reading and forgot to mention... about 4-5 days before coming home not one but both of my cameras died out on me. have to see if they can be fixed..changed batteries, wouldnt charge etc. so didnt get any of my own pix the last 5 days. then, i had an adapter SD disc so i could post some with my nook. tried one day and it wouldnt load anything. after taking about 400-500 pix. so got home and put it in the computer and came up FORMAT DISC .. i was like NO NO NO and pulled it out but all the pix were gone. Switched discs a few days before the cameras stopped working so i got some pix...but not as many as i usually do. will try to post some later on.
HAVE A MAGICAL DAY EVERYONE.... AND KEEP SPREADING THE PIXIE DUST

OK UP 9/29 Had breakfast at the resort then headed off to Studios. was a light drizzle but hoped it would let up (it did..later) so we started off at Toy Story Mania, one mans dream, little mermaid, disney jr and back to frozen sing along. then back to great movie ride. lunch time we went back to Pizza Planet and then did muppets 3d. still raining lightly but skipped on the lights motor action. we had seen it already and it is pretty open there if a downpour hits. caught some of indiana jones (cut short because of the rain) then did some more shopping. again hung out waiting for the last Beauty and the beast show, then had dinner right opposite B&B theater. got in line early and ended up walking right in (we did have fast passes) around like 645p for the 8pm fantasmic show. jam packed.. then done for the night. 9/30 Magic Kingdom.... spent another full day at the magic kingdom. did all of the rides we missed and then skipped out about 1pm. we headed to the lost and found at the ticket and transportation center to see if the cell phone i lost showed up there. the guy in front of me lost a phone and they found his...keeping my fingers crossed. i was surprised the line there was almost as long as a ride line... a woman at the desk when i got there was with a kid who lost a kids hand held video game..they had that....my turn...they had my phone... the last i remember having it was at the pop century bus stop for the airport buses. my friend wasnt landing until 11pm so around 1130 i got there to show her where our room was. while i was waiting i was playing around...changing the wallpaper and ring tones. thinking back i thought that was where i left it, going to help her with all her stuff. i asked where it was found...the CM said ...uh...Animal Kingdom... oh well, it was found...only a $10 tracfone but right before i left i put like $80 worth of minutes on it...yipee.. for about the 4th time this year my lost phone came back to me. my friend stopped to ask if they found her magic band. she ordered a pink one that had her name on it and lost it one night over at disney springs...she was wearing the one from her grandson but she hoped they had the one that had her name on...YUP..the magic still works...they had that too... the guy in line behind us was hoping they found his wallet... cash and credit cards in it... we left before we found out but i hope the pixie dust landed on him too. so now we headed back to disney springs. morimoto asia was supposed to open today and my friend was leaving the next day...before leaving home we tried to get reservations but they were not taking them. so we walked around and found it....walked in and they said they were booked up for the day...no tables for the day..HUH? i asked when they started taking reservations because when i asked i was told we couldnt book a ressie...the guy said...at 10am that morning..i wish i knew we could have called... i explained i was told a resservation would not be given for that day..only walk ups... sorry... so we ended up going over to Portabello..a first time for me and i loved it... i had the chicken parm and asked if i could have angel hair instead of regular spaghetti...NO PROBLEM...awesome place will go back. so we walked around disney springs then until about 9pm then headed back. we both had some packing to do. 10/1 last day for my friend and her grandson. didnt get up until 8am then we went over to Art of Animation for some pix and breakfast, then pack to pop to do some laundry and finished packing. i hung around until they got their bus, flight was like 5pm but their bus pick up was 130p. after they left i headed back to the Magic Kingdom and finally got to do Pirates of the Caribbean.. so i did it 3x splash mtn, back to see Capt Jack Tutorial then did pirates 2 more times. started to leave MK around 6pm because there was a MNSSHP and i figured maybe i could beat the crowds to the bus. OH MY i got to the front gate and was amazed..just watching the costumed people coming into the park...i was like a kid in a candy shop...thinking ...wow how cool it must be to be creative...lol... whole families with a theme...of course i think most little girls were princesses but so cool. the party we went to there were some people dressed but mostly kids...but now we were 2 weeks closer to Halloween so maybe? took the bus to Disney Springs again and went back to Basin to get some more of their bath bombs. got back to pop and took a bunch of stuff i bought that still had tags on up to everything pop and the packed it up and mailed it to me. was onl $40 (the max they charge) and the box was huge. lots of stuff in it ...some stuff like castle glasses i had mailed right home...but this is stuff i picked up... like a hoodie here.... some polos there...and each one would have been almost $9 to mail...this turned out cheaper. now the stuff i already took the tags off...like polos i wore, the hoodie i wore, hats i wore, etc could not be mailed. so i had to pack them. finished later and took my bigger duffle (the one i brought down) and had it weighed ...they will do that for you...where the bus to the airport stops... there is a 50 lb limit per bag. ummmm mine was 48.8 lbs. hmmm cant put anything more in that one... had been looking for a new one but couldnt find one..i brought a smaller one but that was pretty full too. oh well...worry about it tmw 10/2 ok woke up with a sad feeling..today is my last day...20 days and i didnt want to go home... felt like crying, so much more i wanted to do... i need more time...i am not ready to leave...lol... so, of to MK before breakfast so i could be there for the opening. started off getting last day of memory maker pix right on main street. although i tried to avoid it i stopped at starbucks for the passion tea/lemonade i buy here. and thats where i saw the starbucks you are here mugs. the lady behind me sent her son over to get one off the rack and it looked so cool i had to get one too. now i wish i got the other ones. spent the day at pirates (2 more times0 jungle cruise tiki birds capt jacks tutorial back to pirates, stopped at pecos bills for lunch over to country bears jamboree, stopped for a few min and listed to the hillbilly musicians playing right there, went to hall of presidents, haunted mansion (had a fast pass but got there about 15 min early so i couldnt get on yet) so got a mickey bar and sat on a wall and read some of my kingdom keepers book and ate my ice cream. i do think the park was less crowded today .. thats always good. did my fast pass then just walked on (15 min wait maybe)again. another favorite ride. went thru the short cut there to fantasyland ...did small world, (no wait) the carousel mickeys philharmagic - passed by peter pan (80 min wait) and walked thru to fantasyland... did buzz lightyear highest score ever 117,500 - carousel of progress - stitch - monsters inc laugh floor - and headed toward the gate.. surprisingly it was not quite 3:00 yet. stopped in the main st square to see the festival of fantasy parade. then headed out. my flight was 520am..(something i will not let happen again) stopped at the food court, read some of my book while i enjoyed my very last mickey bar for the trip... back to my room and packed up everything i could. had to be at the bus stop by 215am and since the pre chec in doesnt open up until 6am i was stuck taking my luggage with me. thats it...no more early flights..good thing..i was off the plane and waiting for my ride by 12 even with a delay in philadelphia... but the hours lost on the last day of the park...due to having to get a few hrs sleep wasnt worth what a lost in park time... but thats me... i was surprised how much time we wasted traveling with a 3 yr old... maybe he wasnt a real disney fan, first time away from his mom for 10 days, the heat, what ever... more meltdowns than i expected...more than his grandma expected too i think. anyway, a shock getting off the plane in Pa. the temps were in the 90s the whole time i was in fla and in the low 40s when i get off the plane. my friend sent me a text to wear jeans home...the downside... i didnt take any with me. I AM GOING TO FLORIDA... i didnt need them...while waiting for my ride i was sorry about that. home safe and sound...everything mailed was received in great shape...nothing broken...and looking at prices for next year... now my dilema... i want to go back to disney in oct next year.... last year was oct 3 - oct 22.. this year spet 12-oct 3. i think the later dates had less crowds and a little cooler...so thats the plan... i am hoping for a tax return and lots of overtime next year....i would like to do a few days in disneyland (something i always wanted tod do) i know the good neighbor hotels are cheaper but waiting so many years to go to california i cant imagine finally getting to disneyland and not staying on property. but it seems the 3 resorts they have there are all in the Grand Floridian, Poly price range. oh well...what will be ..will be

Sydney also if you are thinking of a tour...and on a short trip i would recommend MARCELINE TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM.. it was around 4 hrs if i remember correctly and it is of course in the magic kingdom...did that one last year and i think it was only around $40. mostly all about Walt, his ideas, creating the park, stuff like that. some stuff i knew (but of course i am obsessed) but some i didnt. I dont think we went backstage in that one. this year i did the Keys to the Kingdom tour...that ran about 5 1/2 hrs but the cost of the tour included lunch at columbia house...we had a choice of 5 or 6 meals that we picked before the tour started then when we got there our names were on place tags, with a keys to the kingdom pin. perfect. that tour did take us into the utilidors at the end and backstage to see the area where the parades like up. we got to see them spot checking for the festival of fantasy parade...doing a once over to make sure stuff was ready for the parade.. very interesting too..but then i love all the tours i have done. that one was more expensive...maybe like $90. sorry i am not sure..though...but if you call disney they will tell you.
GOOD LUCK AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU DECIDE

The tours sound really neat. I think Ron and I would enjoy doing those when we start going by ourselves. Which do you think is the best one for the first time? I was debating getting the memory maker for Taylor and his girlfriend when they go in Dec., but they're only going for four days and I figure it will be busy and they'll be running around too much to stop for many pics. I was also thinking about getting it for the three of us for our March trip, but I didn't want to have tons of great pics without Taylor. Now I'm thinking I might wait and get it when all five of us go. Since Taylor will be stationed in Florida, this shouldn't be too long off. You being by yourself for a good part of your trip I'm sure it was worth it. Do you think it's worth it for groups though? aside from the memory maker being on everyones band, some pix disney now -adds the animation...then right before you download them, you can add borders (on some of mine) and what disney calls stickers (like the mickey alone in the corner of one of my pix.) this one disney sent with the video this one they inserted the character another one disney did... my personal favorite this one i put mickey into the pix myself one i put a border on disney put in lumier i added the border the last time (my birthday in 2012 ) i bought a few pix and they were like $13 each and you got 2 of the same for each pix... can get pricey that way. let me know what you decide

after finally getting all 27 cards and my free pin at the entrance to epcot after my haircut at the Harmony Barber shop and before all the pixie dust fell off the photographer was a riot... he got the guy who was next in line to be gaston...his girlfriend/wife was behind the photographer laughing so hard it was hard for us to stop laughing one of my Disney Springs trips... wearing a shirt i picked up when shopping at Mitsukoshi a few years ago...one year found dream, next year patience last year strong...no new ones this year...but the cm taking my pix was from japan and asked if i knew what the shirt said...when i said dream he was like surprised and happy i new it...then i turned around and showed him the answer was on the back.... he also thought it was funny

I'm loving your reports so far! You do really get a lot done, but it seems like you also factor in some down time too, so that's good. Seems to be some pixie dust moments in there too. One of my co-workers was there Sept.20-26 with her DH, DS, DD & DSIL, and DGD (2) and she said it was pretty hot too- and we're here in South Carolina. The night they did MNSSHP she said it was also very crowded. You being by yourself for a good part of your trip I'm sure it was worth it. Do you think it's worth it for groups though? I can't wait to hear more. Include some pics too if you can. The one you shared is wonderful! The good thing about the Memory Maker photo package is it is on everyones magic band who is on the reservation. so anyone can have a picture taken...no matter if you are together or even in different parks.. you can each have a pix taken...then a group photo...then in 2s or 3s...what ever you want..the photographers are very easy to get along with and will do what ever you want....then you download them when you get home... was $149 last year and $169 this year but the animation to pictures is new this year....I LOVE THAT THE MOST
